Sean Coatney, Partner

THIRD PARTY BROKERAGE SERVICES

Sean Coatney AND Michael Dolan recognized that there was an opportunity to provide third party commercial real estate brokerage services to small and mid-sized business.  The small and mid-sized business owners were not receiving the same level of service and attention to detail that larger companies were receiving for their commercial real estate needs.  Sean Coatney and Michael Dolan started CORE Commercial Real Estate in March of 2011.

Previous to CORE Commercial Real Estate, Sean Coatney joined Equity Commercial Services, the predecessor to Transwestern in the Twin Cities market, in 2001 as a Sales & Leasing Associate specializing in both tenant and landlord representation of industrial properties. Before joining Transwestern, Sean worked in the public warehousing business for over 20 years.  His extensive background relating to the warehousing and facility needs of companies coupled with a vast database of clients presented a perfect background to work in the commercial real estate industry.  At Transwestern, Sean covered the entire north, northeast and east metro area sub-markets.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

During the past 8 years, Sean has averaged sales in excess of $10,000,000.  Prior to Transwestern, Sean spent 23 years in operations and sales for Terminal Warehouse Companies where he served as the Operations Manager for 1 million square feet of third-party warehousing.  This experience has given Sean an intimate knowledge of the industrial commercial real estate industry.

Michael Dolan, Partner

THIRD PARTY BROKERAGE SERVICES

Michael Dolan and Sean Coatney recognized that there was an opportunity to provide third party commercial real estate brokerage services to small and mid-sized business.  The small and mid-sized business owners were not receiving the same level of service and attention to detail that larger companies were receiving for their commercial real estate needs.  Michael Dolan and Sean Coatney started CORE Commercial Real Estate in March of 2011.

Previous to CORE Commercial Real Estate, Michael joined Equity Commercial Services, the predecessor to Transwestern in the Twin Cities market, in 2007 as a Sales and Leasing Associate.  He focused on new business development, third party brokerage, tenant representation and client representation in transactions for sales and acquisition.  Michael was part of a team at Transwestern that covered the covered the north, northeast and east metro sub-markets.  Michael is a proven self starter with a strong background in both sales and the real estate market.

ADDITIONAL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Before becoming a day to day commercial real estate broker, Michael spent about 5 years as a real estate developer in the residential multi unit housing industry.  Prior to that Michael created and ran a successful small business that serviced and supported the video post production and motion graphics industries in the Midwest with annual revenues of over $2 million.  He created and grew that start up business to over $2 million in annual revenue in a little over two years.  Previously, he was a national sales account executive, consistently exceeding 125% of sales quota. He was a proven leader on a sales team and handled the implementation and strategy of all new product sales.  Part of a real estate partnership in the 1980’s, Michael has participated in variety of real estate transactions including contract for deeds, real estate development, buyer representation, vacant land development and 1031 Exchanges.

Tong Khang brings to CORE Commercial many years of experience in commercial real estate advisory service. Tong specializes in real estate transactions and focuses on serving the real estate needs of small and mid-size businesses. His attention to detail and key metrics drives successful real estate transactions and have generated significant savings for his clients through negotiations of purchase and sale, lease renewal, restructure or relocation. As a commercial real estate advisor, Tong provides his clients with tailored strategic solutions that align their real estate requirements with core business objectives.

Tong has a background in research and financial analysis, which helps him provide exceptional service to all of his clients. He utilizes in-depth financial analysis tools and market knowledge to provide clients with comprehensive and effective real estate solutions. In addition, Tong brings with him a unique perspective to commercial real estate coming from a minority upbringing, he is fluent in Hmong and is passionate to bring high level commercial real estate service to all entrepreneurs and business owners.

Tong prides himself on servicing his clients with integrity and professionalism. He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Certified Commercial Investment Member of Minnesota and Dakotas.

Dan Terry, Commercial Real Estate & Brokerage

Dan Terry is Senior Director of the Industrial and Corporate Services Group for CORE Commercial Real Estate.  He specializes in representing both institutional, corporate, and local clients in all aspects of the real estate transaction.

Dan’s ability to gather and analyze market data facilitates the client’s understanding of market trends and supplies them with sound advice in all aspects of a real estate decision.  Dan focuses on a few key sectors including corporate facilities, manufacturing, distribution, and logistics.  His superior market knowledge and strong client advocate approach helps companies reduce their occupancy costs and improve their location, access, space efficiency and corporate flexibility.

Dan’s market expertise was recognized when he was a featured panelist for the 2010 NAIOP Industrial Market Update for the Twin Cities. His world-class service allows him to achieve superior results for his clients. Dan provides a strategic full service approach to his clients. Prior to joining CORE Commercial  Real Estate, Dan worked at Jones Lang LaSalle in the Industrial and Corporate Services Group, prior to that he was a part of the Industrial Brokerage Group at CB Richard Ellis and Colliers Turley Martin Tucker in Minneapolis.

Dan Russ, Commercial Real Estate, Industrial & Corporate Sales

Dan Russ is a director of business development at Brinkmann Constructors in the Denver office, where he works to maximize value for clients in the industrial/warehouse market.

Dan has more than 40 years of experience in the construction, real estate development, and brokerage industries. Dan’s chief priority is the office and industrial warehouse sector where he maximizes value for a wide range of national clients. Dan is a proven expert in national market insights, and takes a strategic, value-driven approach to business developments. He served in ownership and executive positions for multiple development, brokerage, and construction companies across the country before joining Brinkmann’s Denver office in 2016.

He has an inherent ability to solve complex problems, and the track record to prove it. Dan is an active member of the National Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
